Want a family friendly vacation with great amenities and activities less than 3 hours from New York City… Then you will love Jellystone at Birchwood Acres in the Catskills just like my family did.
Now you might think camping is not for me. Trust me, I thought the same thing. But when I realized all the different accommodations that these camping resorts offered and I was willing to give it a try.
Our cabin included a separate bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, heat and air conditioning… Now that is camping I can get down with.
We chose Jellystone at Birchwood Acres this year because it was only about 2 ½ hours away from where we are in Jersey which I thought was perfect for a quick 3 night getaway. I also got a great deal on our cabin.

Secret Tip Alert
One thing I like to do after narrowing down where I want to stay is follow those places on social media, and sign up for their offer emails. This is where you will get the best deals, and lots of places post deals quite often- We were able to get a Great Deal on our 3 Night Stay!!!
Cabin
Our cabin was awesome, and even better because of the great deal we got!!! We stayed in a 1 bedroom cabin with a loft. It included a full kitchen, bathroom (with tub), screened in porch, deck, and fire pit with picnic table. The kitchen was stocked with pots & pans, dishes, glasses, cups, silverware. We did have to bring our own towels, sheets, pillows, blankets, etc.
There are lots of other accommodation options including tent sites, rustic cabins, 2 bedroom cabins, campers, and much more!
Amenities
One of the main reasons we chose this Jellystone at Birchwood Acres was because of all the activities and amenities they offer.
There are so many amenities to choose from! We visited in the summer so we were able to enjoy the 2 pools, as well as the splash park. The splash park has slides, water cannons, a dumping bucket, and so much more! Another one of my kiddos favorite activities were the jumping pillow and the large playground (there is also a smaller one). They also LOVED the paddle boats so much we went on twice (they would have gone more times if we let them). We also thought the Gem Mining and Human Foosball were lots of fun.

Activities
My kids LOVED all the activities that were offered daily. My daughter would read the schedule of activities each day and pick out which ones she wanted to do. Some favorites were Laser Tag, Breakfast with Boo-Boo, the DJ Dance Party, and the Wagon Ride.

Give it a Try
If you haven’t tried camping with your family, I would highly recommend it! I never thought my family would be the ‘camping’ type, but having a cabin was perfect for us. We were still able to have all the conveniences of a hotel, but had lots of space, plus got to enjoy nature so much more.
Our only regret was that we didn’t reserve a golf cart when I booked our room. Our kids were totally jealous that we didn’t have one, as they were all reserved once we arrived.
We enjoyed Jellystone so much, plus there were lots of fun things that we enjoyed around the area. Look out for my next post on Wineries, Cideries, & Breweries in the Catskills that are family friendly
Very efficiently written information. It will be valuable to anyone who employess it, as well as myself. Keep doing what you are doing – for sure i will check out more posts.
I enjoy spending time outdoors during the summer. My friends and I would take our camping gear, drive up th the foot of the nearest hiking trail, set up our tents and sleep under the stars. It’s an amazing experience.
I’ve been surfing on-line greater than three hours lately, yet I never found any attention-grabbing article like yours. It is lovely value enough for me. In my view, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net can be a lot more helpful than ever before. “Truth is not determined by majority vote.” by Doug Gwyn.
