As a lifelong Jersey Girl, I have loved living here my whole life.

What’s not to love when you live by the beach!  There are so many fun things to do, especially when you have kids!

Now that I have two kiddos, 4 & 7, i’m able to enjoy some of my favorite childhood spots with my own children.

Six Flags Great Adventure

Some of my best memories from childhood are going to Great Adventure with my family and friends.  I have a summer birthday so every year I would bring my best friends and we would go all day. It was always something I looked forward to.

Last year was the first year we got season passes for the family after a bunch of my friends told me how they went all the time with their kiddos.  We weren’t sure how much we were going to use them, but I bought them on their Black Friday Sale and figured even if we only went a few times it would be worth it.  Well we definitely got our money’s worth!

There are two different areas for smaller kids, one on either side of the park. There are quite a few rides in each. The safari ride is one of our favorites and lasts about 40 minutes.  We went so many times last year, and even had a great time at Fright Fest and their Holiday in the Park. We also got the Meal Plans when they were on sale, which was a great deal!

Hurricane Harbor

Hurricane Harbor was also included in our Season passes, and we went there quite a few times. Again my kiddos are smaller, so we didn’t go on any of the big slides, but there were plenty of things for them to enjoy.

Jenkinson’s Boardwalk

As a high schooler, I worked at the Boardwalk so it’s great coming back.  We started taking the kiddos at a young age, since there are tons of rides for little ones.  Now at 4 & 7 my little guy still likes the smaller rides, but my girlie is starting to enjoy the rides for the older kiddos.

We usually make a point to stop in one of the arcades and play some games. Of course we also stop for a treat in one of the many ice cream or sweet shops around.

Jenkinson’s in my opinion is one of the most family friendly boardwalks in the area. It is tons of fun for kids and adults.

If your kiddos enjoy the rides, make sure you stock up on ride cards during their annual BOGO sale Easter weekend.

Monmouth Park

I didn’t really go to Monmouth Park as a child, but it’s one of our favorite summertime places to have fun with the kiddos.  We love to pack lunch and snacks, some outside toys for the kiddos and stay the whole day. We always find a spot in the picnic area (which is BYOB). Sometimes we can grab a spot at one of the tables, but if not we always bring a blanket to sit on the grass.  Our kiddos love the huge playground so we always try to find a spot close to that. My kiddos also love to check out the horses inside. Sunday is a great day to go in the summer months because they have Family Fun Days. Weather Permitting it includes a bounce house, face painting, balloon art, and pony rides- All included with admission!!!

What are your favorite kid-friendly places at the Jersey Shore???
